These are real flowers but have undergone a process or treatment to preserve them and make them last longer but still look as they did when they were freshly cut. Research suggests they can last from 1 year to 35 years if cared for well!
And that is a very long time considering their fresh cut lifespan is usually a maximum of 2 weeks!
Dried Flowers
Fresh cut flowers an foliage's are hung upside down and left to dehydrate naturally. After length of time this leaves the flowers and leaves completely dehydrated and ready to work with. Not all types of flowers are suitable for this process so only appropriate ones are selected for this process. As this process can leave the flowers brittle and drained of color they are then given a coloration and setting treatment to help retain their natural shape and color.
Preserved Flowers
After the fresh flowers are cut, they are put through a preservation process. This process when completed leaves the flowers soft, hydrated and almost exactly like they were as a fresh cut flower.
They are placed, stem first, into a colorless, odorless, non-toxic liquid called Glycerin. The stem is left in this liquid until the flower has completely absorbed the Glycerin through the stem and substitutes all the sap.
